
Amit Singh Kalra, DPM, is a dedicated podiatrist at Starrett Podiatry, serving patients in Brooklyn and New York, New York. Starrett Podiatry is now affiliated with Curalta Foot + Ankle, the largest podiatric group in the Northeast. Through this affiliation, Dr. Kalra continues to provide personalized care while offering patients access to an expanded network of specialists, advanced technology, and comprehensive treatment options.
Having experienced foot pain at a young age due to flat feet and athletic injuries, Dr. Kalra felt called to pursue a career in podiatry. Today, he is passionate about helping patients find relief from foot and ankle pain and return to the activities they enjoy.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in nutrition in 2003, Dr. Kalra pursued an advanced degree in exercise science at Ithaca College. As a graduate student, he completed an internship with the United States Olympic Committee.
During his internship, Dr. Kalra worked alongside athletes at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, New York, assisting with their strength and conditioning programs. He completed his graduate studies at Ithaca College in 2005, earning a master’s degree in exercise and sports sciences.
Dr. Kalra then studied podiatric medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, where he served as both a tutor and teaching assistant. After earning his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 2009, he returned to the East Coast to begin his podiatric medicine and surgery residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York.
Dr. Kalra is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, and the New York State Podiatric Medical Association.
A member of the Starrett Podiatry team since 2014, Dr. Kalra takes pride in applying his extensive knowledge and diverse skills to help his patients achieve the best possible outcomes.
