Meet Robert Warkala, DPM

Dr. Warkala’s interest in podiatry grew out of running track and cross country in high school and college. He was treated by a podiatrist for a running injury in high school and that sparked his interest in the field. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at the State University of New York at Binghamton and his podiatric education at Temple University of Podiatry in Philadelphia, PA. He went on to complete a Residency in Podiatric Surgery at Lakeview Hospital in Wisconsin.

In November 1987, Dr. Warkala went into private practice in Washington Township, NJ. Cornerstone Foot and Ankle, now an affiliate of Curalta Foot + Ankle, was founded by Dr. Warkala in 2014 with Drs. Shah and Oware. He stays involved in the medical community, serving as President of the New Jersey Podiatric Society from 2002-2003 and holding all elected offices within the society, currently in charge of Continuing Education for Region III APMA Conference. In addition, the doctor holds staff privileges at Jefferson University Hospitals, and was the Residency Director for 10 years.

In his free time, Dr. Warkala enjoys working out, kyaking, boating and hiking. He especially loves spending time with his wife, Sharon and two sons John and Andrew, and daughter in law Elizabeth.
