Meet Vishal Desai, DPM

Dr. Desai is a board-qualified, fellowship trained foot and ankle surgeon specializing in the treatment of complex foot and ankle conditions including bunions, sports injuries and trauma, arthritis, and deformity correction. He has a special interest in ankle replacement and fusion, arthroscopic and minimally invasive foot and ankle procedures, and complex foot and ankle reconstruction. Dr. Desai believes in a patient centered approach directed towards patient education with patients involved in their treatment, both conservatively and surgically.

He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. He then went on to complete a rigorous surgical residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL, where he served as chief resident in his final year. This was followed by an additional one-year fellowship in advanced reconstruction, sports medicine, and peripheral nerve surgery at South Central Pennsylvania Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery Fellowship in Lancaster, PA.

In his free time, Dr. Desai enjoys spending time with his wife and family, sports, exploring local restaurants, and spending time outdoors. He is excited to help the Philadelphia community get back on their feet with both conservative and surgical treatment options.
