Dr. William Lipkin grew up in Union, NJ, and after spending many years out of state for school and training, returned to his home state in 1998. Following residency training, he began practicing with a private group in Baltimore, MD. Upon returning to New Jersey, Dr. Lipkin purchased an existing practice from a retiring physician in Hoboken, NJ, where he has been in private practice since December 1998. He later opened a satellite office in Green Brook, NJ and acquired a practice in Millburn, NJ. Dr. Lipkin has since relocated from Green Brook, NJ and now sees patients in Hoboken, NJ and Piscataway, NJ.
Dr. Lipkin enjoys performing surgical procedures and teaching residents, and he has been involved with the residency program in Hoboken, NJ for more than 25 years. He performs surgical cases with residents from Atlantic Health System/Morristown at the Center for Ambulatory Surgery at Mountainside, NJ. He has also been involved with the Family Practice Residency at RWJBH/Somerset and received a Teaching Recognition Award from that program. In addition, he authored a case study titled “Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma of the Leg,” published in the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association.
With a strong interest in sports medicine, proper nutrition, and training for peak performance, Dr. Lipkin treats many athletes. For many years, he served as the referring podiatrist for the athletic teams at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ and was twice a volunteer podiatrist at the Boston Marathon. Outside of medicine, Dr. Lipkin enjoys bicycling, swimming, playing pickleball, and reading biographies. He previously played in a men’s softball league for 15 years and competed in basketball leagues for many years. An avid sports fan, he follows the New York Mets, New York Giants, and Boston Celtics.
